Film and television studies of the Helsinki university arranges a course, "Asian cinema", from 11.9. to 2.10.
The course will cover several recent and historical key aspects of Asian cinema from Japan to India. Different analytical frameworks, such as modes of production, cinema within a historical context, style and genres, and the most important filmmakers and stars will be analysed. Additional reading material, with different theoretical approaches to Asian cinema will be provided during the course. Course requirements are the lectures, exam and an essay. "Asian cinema", 11.9.-2.10. Fridays from 10-13 and 14-16 hours. The lecturer is Ms. Eija Niskanen, one of the founders of Love & Anarchy festival and the member of L&A Ministry. |
