La Ola Argentina 2008 / Director: Caroline Neal
Si Sos Brujo: a tango story
A young Argentine musician races to find legendary maestros from tango’s golden age (now men in their 80’s) in order to save the lost oral transmission of style before the secrets of ”the real tango” are lost forever.– PRODUCTION NOTES
When I first met Ignacio Varchausky, I was very moved by the nobility and urgency of his idea to create a Tango Orchestra School, his rush to find the old maestros from the 1940’s and recover the irreplaceable details of interpretation in tango which had never been written down. My life was elevated by my proximity to this great story and its characters. Emilio Balcarce is a master teacher and a love, and Ignacio is a visionary, who now six years later, I am happy to say, is also my husband.
